About Us

Ithaca Foreign Car Service was started in 1974 by Dave Allen, Dave Brumsted, and Dan Ryan. The first shop was located on North Cayuga St in what is now a laundromat.

After a year or two Dan decided to pursue other interests, and left Dave and Dave to carry on. The business became known far and wide as “Dave and Dave’s”

In 1984 the business moved to the much larger current location on State Street.

Dave Allen “retired” in 1992, after many, many years of working on cars, to devote more time to being a gentleman farmer. Due to the large amount of business at the shop, Dave Allen was pressed back into action in 1995 and can still be found at the shop a few times a week.

In January 2007 the service department moved across the parking lot to a new timber frame building to provide you a better service experience.

Familiarity and consistency are important to us. We strive to get to know not just the customer vehicle, but the customer as well.
